Lights. Camera. Fashion!!! Let’s rewind ourselves to 2004 when our king khan and a long-legged Miss Universe gave us the much-needed sartorial delight on big screens. Yes! We are talking about Main Hoon Na!
They are hot, they are cool. They are the trend makers and breakers. That’s the story of the cast of this film. We all adore SR and simply go gaga over his style statement so let’s just leave him to the fantasizing and talk about the lady love 😉 Sushmita Sen’s simple yet striking sartorial choices made waves in tinsel town’s fashion corridors as she made for a mesmerizing sight in her lovely sarees. She was like ‘Yeah, I can be sexy, saucy and the entire spice rack!!!’ We also had lovely Amrita Rao who lived up to the hype in her own darling way- transformation from a tomboy to a stunner in ethnic wear, was completely adorable.
Sush showed us that we don’t need to reserve our draped number for just weddings or special occasions, pleat them neatly- wear them to work and they’ll know you mean business. Elegant, exquisite, eclectic. Inspired, intricate and inevitable. These are just few words to describe how she looks in the movie. With a little romance, her fashion designer gave her something that was a melange of style, technique, color, print, texture and simplicity.
The best thing was, she allowed her sari to flow seamlessly from day to the evening, for SRK to flirt throught it 😉

Black for day, summer black, moody black, romantic black… magazines and designers return to the hue season after season. Black, it seems, is always back! Sush looked stunningly hot in this chiffon black saree with red polka dots.

There’s a saree for every hue btw 😀 Sushmita definitely caught the nation’s fancy as the sophisticated and stylish teacher with flowy saris, vibrant colors and prints!

She played a sexy, sophisticated teacher with a weakness for flowy saris and vibrant prints and her sizzling dance in Tumhe Joh Mein ne dekha had to become a huge rage.

When we are on the songs, how can we not mention the other two classic songs from this movie: Tumse milke and Chori Chori!!! And we have to say, her entire personality when combined with an ordinary outfit adds so much glamour and pizzazz that it turns into a fashion statement and a trend for the new generation.

She has inspired a lot of trends in the country through her various roles in movies and otherwise, however, her style in ‘Main Hoon Na’, a blockbuster movie by Farah Khan simply blew everyone away. Most of the credit for Sushmita’s style to be given to Manish Malhotra who designed her entire look and turned her into the ultimate style diva. Way to go Sush 🙂
